In my daily work as a developer, I often encounter small recurring tasks that can be completed much faster with the right tool. Instead of spending a long time searching for a ready-made solution, in such cases I simply build a small tool myself – and share it here with you.
The Problem
When working with log messages, things quickly become confusing. Especially when you only want to see certain lines – for example, all messages with a specific prefix – you're constantly scrolling or laboriously filtering.
The Solution
For this purpose, I developed a small native macOS app with SwiftUI.
- Simply enter the desired prefix
- All relevant messages are filtered immediately
- Super lightweight and without unnecessary bloat
The tool is not only practical but also a nice example of how quickly you can build small, useful applications today with modern AI-assisted development tools. The actual development took only a few hours.
