Personal license or business license?

A one-time purchase of an app is a personal license. For companies there is one simple rule: if the company pays for, reimburses or manages the license, it needs the business license. If you pay yourself, you buy a personal license, even if you use the app at work. Licenses bought before this change remain valid as they are, including for commercial use.

What the business license includes

• Commercial use, explicitly covered by the contract.
• Seats for people: a seat belongs to one person in your company and covers up to ten of their devices. You can reassign a seat to another person at any time. Add seats whenever you need them, charged pro rata; fewer seats take effect from the next contract year.
• EdgeFlow: only the person who does the controlling needs a seat. Macs that are only being controlled need no seat.
• All updates while the subscription is active.
• Invoice to your company, prices excluding VAT. With a valid VAT ID from another EU country under the reverse-charge procedure.
• Annual subscription with fair cancellation: cancel at the end of the first year, after that at any time with one month's notice. Anything you have already paid for the time after that, we refund pro rata.
• Your data stays on your Macs. We only see licenses, seats and invoices, never content: to manage licenses we only need your company name, billing address, number of seats and license keys; your documents are not part of that. Where a feature optionally uses an online service, such as Inkra AI, our privacy policy describes it.

Built for AI assistants and your own scripts

AI assistants such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, VS Code or Cursor work directly with PDF Content Search, Inkra and FreezeText via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). For your own scripts and automation, PDF Content Search has a REST API and FreezeText a local API. Local AI models can be connected to PDF Content Search as well. Everything runs locally on the Mac, with no intermediate server and no extra account; the interfaces stay off until you turn them on.

Personal support for PDF Content Search is also available on its own: Business Support for €125.21 per year excluding VAT, for up to 10 employees.

For law firms and tax advisers

As long as you only search locally, no external service provider gets access to client files. If you connect a cloud AI service, the requirements of Section 62a StBerG (German Tax Advisers Act) or Section 43e BRAO (Federal Lawyers' Act) apply to that service – we tell you openly which features transfer data and where to.

In personal support we draft replies with the help of AI services; only the text of your request is passed on. So please do not put client data into requests, or object to the AI assistance.

How to buy

1. Try the apps for free first. How long is shown on each app's page in the store.
2. In the store, choose an app or the business bundle and set the number of seats.
3. Enter your company name, confirm that you are ordering as a business, and pay. Founding customers enter their code here.
4. The invoice and one license key per seat arrive by email.
